<span class="art-PostHeader"><span style="font-size: medium;">THE BACKGROUND OF<br /> VOICE OF THE BLIND ASSOCIATION </span> </span></h2>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://blindvoice.org/images/vobfounder.jpg" style="border-bottom-width: 3px; border-color: initial; border-image: initial; border-left-width: 3px; border-right-width: 3px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 3px; clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://blindvoice.org/images/vobfounder.jpg" width="202" /></a></div>
There are an estimated 14.6 million people in Cambodia and of these
1.125% of population (being approximately 146,250) are blind low version
or visually impaired. Wars, landmines, diseases, physical birth
defects, accidents, the effects of poverty and the lack of adequate
medical care all contribute to the high incidence of blindness in
Cambodia. In recent years, a number of NGOs specializing in eye surgery
have been providing treatment for those Cambodians with cataracts and
other eye conditions. This has reduced the numbers of Blind across the
country, but blindness still continues to be a major factor as
conditions (specialist personnel, equipment and transport
considerations), especially in rural Cambodia, continues to be a
contributing factor for blindness, low version and visionally impaired.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Blind people are one of the most socially and economically marginalised
groups in Cambodia. This marginalisation is due largely to the belief
that they cannot play a productive role because of their disabilities.
In Cambodia, with its long history of civil war and immense suffering,
many consider blindness as part of life’s punishment and hide blind
people in their houses and never let them take part in the social
activities of every day life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
As factor above mentioned, in September 01, 2010, Voice Of the Blind
Association was established under one radio program called Voice Of the
Blind at Dambang Kronhoung Radio FM 100Mhz in Battambang City, Cambodia.
This program was created by two people, Mr.Sem Samnang (he is the blind
and is VOB's executive director), Mr.Hoeurn Sina(He is Cambodian
volunteer youth and is the deputy director of VOB). <span style="font-size: medium;">This association is <span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">registered and recognized by ministry of interior of Kingdom of Cambodia since 10</span>th<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;"> May 2011.</span></span><br />
<br />
Most of the members of VOB are blind people. We have met and seen a lot
of blind people or low version ones outside through Voice Of the Blind,
our broadcasting program. They have always assisted us to help them.<br />
<br />
VOB was established without any donor supporting but we still hope that
we will be successfully through our try hard and honesty.<br />
<br />
Please share or tell your family and friends join our programs to
enhance the blind or low version working here so that they can
participate in country and world development.

been setting the fundraising campaign to get charity fund from inside
and outside the country in order to ensure the sustainability of the
association and to set up a radio station. That is the dream and hope of
the disable people including the blinds. The radio station is called in
English as "Voice Of the Blind" abbreviated scripts "VOB". This Radio
will provide employment opportunity for all the disable people including
the blinds to work in the radio station because there are many kinds of
jobs for them such as a program host, coordinator, news reader, singer,
radio man, administrator and other jobs.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">As informed above, we would like to appeal to all
institutions including community, association, national and

get happiness, prosperity and especially may God bless you to have a
long life, higher rank and good health forever.</span><br />

the Voice Of the Blind radio station, their names will be announced in
public through Dambang Kra Nhoung radio station FM100Mhz every Saturday

the names of donors who will support monthly for the sustainability of
the voice of blind association also be announced through the same radio
station and will be posted worldwide through the internet website:

Assalamu’alaikum waramatullahi wa barakatuh!<br />
Brothers and Sisters, may I present to you a collection of pictures
we’ve obtained from halfway across the world! Kampong Cham is a Cham
communty based in Cambodia, with the majority of the folk representing
Islam as the main religion. This is a wondrous thing; as most of
Cambodia is based of the religion of Buddhism!<br />
In our collection you’ll find a multitude of scenarios; from the
beautiful Masjid being built to our brothers and sisters lounging about
their lives. Of note you’ll find Ustaz Abdulgany making contact with the
Cham Bani – a group of our Muslim brothers who practice Islam much
differently than normally accepted in the world. This is a noble cause
and I ask that Allah swt bless us all in our effort to help our brothers
find the best of guidance of Allah swt.<br />
Please let us know if there is anything you would like to add or if
you have any suggestions or comments. We will be happy to hear anything
you have to say, inshaAllah. Enjoy!<br />

Assalamu’alaikum waramatullahi wa barakatuh,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Brothers and sisters, on this page you will find translated textbooks
in the Khmer and Cham language. If you are able to read in either
language, please click on one of the covers below and a .pdf document
should open up within your browser or through an external .pdf program
you may have on your computer.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We would like to extend a thank you to our brothers and sisters, who
are too numerous to name who strived to help translate these books from
Arabic and English to the native language of Khmer and Cham. We hope our
brothers and sisters sincerely benefit from reading these and ask that
you let us know if you see anything misplaced or stated incorrectly. We
ask Allah (swt) to bless us in our dawah efforts and ask Allah (swt) to
guide us all along the righteous path.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
**If you are unable to read the documents due to distorted text within the .pdf document, please try downloading this <a href="http://www.tckip.org/downloads/Fonts.zip" target="_blank" title="font package">font package</a>
and installing it. It includes an assortment of Arabic and Khmer fonts
that might be able to help you troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
If that fails, please contact me at rosatymat@yahoo.com and I
will assist you as best I can.**</div>
